Boise Kind Day 2019We know two things to be true: Boiseans are kind and they love their community. Boise Kind Day was a shining example of both! Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who came out on a beautiful Saturday morning to pick goatheads in the Boise Foothills, spruce up parks and community gardens, and prepare Zoo Boise's newest exhibit, the Gorongosa National Park exhibit, for its grand opening in a few weeks. Boise Kind Day was a success because of all of you! #BoiseKind

Composting Your LeavesStart composting your leaves. Leaves are collected year-round in your compost carts so you can start setting them out as soon as they drop. Fill your carts first, then put any extra in paper leaf bags and set on your curb for collection day. We will collect up to 10 bags per week. http://cityofboise.org/curb-it

BUGS - Environmental StewardsAt the Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS), we’re teaching the next generation of Boiseans the importance of growing healthy foods and how to create delicious and nutritious dishes in the kitchen. Last year, farmer Dave pulled 2,300 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables from the BUGS garden! The produce was sent home with community center students and used in our culinary classes.
