CLARENCE “DUDE” DEWALT
In the Early 1930’s
Worked as a sheep foreman for the Highland Sheep Company. Long hard days were routine for this line of work. On one evening extracurricular activities occurred when the shepherds invited two women from town to join them for a few drinks. A fight over one of the women ensued and Dude was stabbed. The gulch the Winery sits over today is named after him.

Located in the rigged Eagle Foothills, outside of Boise, Idaho is Dude DeWalt Cellars. Built by people who want to preserve the memory and legend of this incredible area. We craft our wine to embody the spirit of the land itself, and the pioneers who daringly came before us.
