Beat The Beast

About Us

What is #IAM149?

IAM149 is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that was formed to grant “wishes” for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.  This cancer is an ugly beast, and nobody should have to go it alone.

What inspired us…

James “Chad” Register was a police officer who valiantly battled pancreatic cancer for 18 months.  His badge number, “149“, has become  synonymous  with courage, strength, determination and hope. Chad loved his family and served his community faithfully.  He was also incredibly generous.  It is our honor to be able to give back to other warriors fighting this disease in his name.

How can you help?

Donate!  Time, money, services.  Whatever you can.  We are trying to make wishes come true and we’re in need of pretty much everything.  Please click the “donate” button, or contact us at one of the emails below!

I remember when I didn’t know what pancreatic cancer was. And now, I unfortunately know how it destroys lives and everybody around it. It’s World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day and we honor those fighting and those we have lost. Please join the fight. Know the symptoms, become active in spreading the word and donate to research. Help us help them. The people in this video and so many others are counting on us.

Nominate a Patient for a Wish

We know how hard this disease is to navigate and how overwhelming it is.  We know how stressful it is, and demanding, and scary and how it takes over everything in your life.

We are here for you.  We want to give you some relief.

Chad was one of the most generous people we have ever known.  He was that guy who, if you asked to borrow something, would just give it to you.  He believed people needed things more than he did.

Do you know somebody who just needs a break?  Is it you?  Is it a family member?  Tell us.

Our foundation is new.  We don’t have a ton of money yet, but we still want to help.

Send us your story.  No rules.  No word count.  Just tell us who you are and who needs something done – just for them.   Tell us who needs a day or even an hour to think about something other than cancer.  Make sure you tell us what kind of wish you think we should grant!  We can’t give out money but we can figure out a way to make you or your loved one smile!
