If you want quality snow in copious amounts drive down I-90 to Exit 0! You’ll then have found the spot with the “Most Snow In Idaho”. The mountain is just 200 yards off the exit ramp! Slopes and trails for all levels, Lessons, Rentals, Food & a Bar. Our lift tickets are sold at bargain prices.
Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area is on the crest of the Bitterroot Mountains and averages 400+” of snow annually. Known for early openings, legendary powder, impeccable grooming & Family focused. The 1st ski area to open in Idaho. Born 12/24/1935.
Ski Lookout Pass is a Winter and Summer Outdoor experience! We Opened on 11/14/2020 for the start of the 2020-21 Winter Season of Skiing & Snowboarding! We offer 560 acres of terrain, 4 Lifts including our new Peak 1 Quad, 38 Trails, Rental Ski & Snowboard Packages, Group & Private lessons for all abilities, Learn to Ski or Snowboard packages for those just starting out, a Full Service Bar & our Deli that offers warm food or grab and go items to keep you refueled.
Check us out in the Summer too. Open in the summer to serve our Route of the Hiawatha Scenic Bike Trail Guests and for Scenic Chairlift Rides, Downhill Mountain Biking, Hiking & Frisbee Golf on the summit. Our Chairlift in summer operates 10 am to 3:30 pm to take people to our mountains summit where beautiful scenic vistas are available, and guests can hike around or event down the hill or they can pick delicious Huckleberries starting in August. Come experience Ski Lookout Pass year round. Summer hours for 2021 run May thru Sept., every day. Doors open at 8 am.

Also note in summer we operate the Route of the Hiawatha Scenic Bike Trail which is a unique all downhill bike trail that takes you thru 10 dark tunnels and across 7 Sky High Trestles. We even offer a shuttle bus ride from the bottom back up to the Taft, MT parking lot where most people start their ride!

HOURS OF OPERATION
2020-2021 WINTER SEASON:
WE OPERATE ON PST (PACIFIC STD TIME)
We’ll open as early as possible based upon snow and we’ll run as late as feasable. Understandably our season is always conditions permitting.
JANUARY/FEBRUARY
Lookout Pass is OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK in Jan. & Feb.
Lifts operate from 9 AM to 4 PM (PST), Monday thru Friday – Opening on MLK & Presidents Day, Monday at 8:30 am.
Lifts operate from 8:30 AM to 4 PM (PST), on Weekends & over the MLK & Presidents extended weekend holiday periods.
MARCH:
This is our plan please check the Snow Conditions report for the latest daily update.
OPEN 7 days a week 9 AM to 4 PM (PDT) weekdays, & 8:30 AM to 4 PM on weekends thru March 7th.
Starting on March 8th hours will be 9 AM to 4 PM both midweek and weekends. (Closed on Tuesdays March 9, 16, 23 & 30!)
Things can always change based upon the weather, so please check our websites daily condition report for the most up to date schedule.
APRIL:
Our plan is to always shoot to run the mountain thru the 3rd weekend in April.
Hoping to be OPEN 6 Days-a-week – Wednesday thru Monday 9 AM to 4 PM (PDT) – Closed Tuesdays.
Days of the week and hours can change based upon the weather and skier traffic in April.
Please check our Daily Snow Report for the most up to date schedule.
Lifts open 9 AM to 4 PM (PST) Midweek and Weekends – unless indicated otherwise on our daily snow report. Please check the report for any updates which should be shown as of 4 or 5 pm the night before.
SUMMER HOURS OF OPERATION FOR May thru September, 2021.
OUR SUMMER SEASON & TO SUPPORT THE ROUTE OF THE HIAWATHA SCENIC BIKE TRAIL
Daily 8 am to 5 pm for our Historic Lodge. Lodge is open to sell Hiawatha Tickets, Scenic Lift rides on Fri., Sat. & Sun. and for use of our restrooms.
Hours for Food & Drink Service is 8 am to 3 pm over this period.
