All our steaks and fish are hand-cut on-site, our fish and seafood are flown in daily, and we make all our own sauces, soups, and desserts. We are well known for our savory prime rib, huge crab legs, and delicious lamb, and we have wonderful and creative fresh seafood specials nightly. To accompany your meal, we offer an extensive wine list, the area’s largest selection of scotches, a wide variety of beers, and an assortment of specialty martinis and cocktails.
A very successful restaurant for over 40 years, the Pocatello Sandpiper was built in 1975. Pocatello is a vibrant community and is home to Idaho State University. The university, as well as three excellent area high schools, gives us access to a wonderful, vibrant workforce. We love the excitement and enthusiasm these young people have, and they are a big part of the success of the restaurant.
Our focus has always been our wonderful steaks and legendary prime rib; however, we have expanded our menu to include many delicious fresh seafood items. We offer many nightly fish and seafood specials in addition to the favorites you will find on our regular menu.
Nothing is quite as relaxing as dining on our patio during the summer and fall. For larger groups, our banquet room can seat up to 40 people; please let us help you make your special occasion even more special. Reservations are always welcome but never required; please stop by – we look forward to serving you!
Idaho Falls is home to the Idaho National Laboratory and a bevy of supporting high-tech businesses, as well as being the home of Melaleuca, Eastern Idaho Technical College, and satellite locations for the University of Idaho and Idaho Statue University. Our proximity to Sun Valley, Jackson Hole, Island Park, West Yellowstone, and Yellowstone National Park makes Idaho Falls a hub for tourism.
The restaurant has an overall capacity of 600 guests: we can seat 300 outside on the patio and another 300 inside. The banquet room and solarium will hold 100. We are open Monday through Saturday year-round. Please stop in – we would love to see you!

One riverside restaurant is bringing the taste of the ocean right to east Idaho. “Our salmon is amazing, the shrimp is amazing. Of course we have some of the best crab in town,” Manager Kirk Rehfield says. Sandpiper Restaurant in Idaho Falls is casual fine dining for steak and seafood lovers.
“I love sitting by the river, looking over it,” customer Ryan Nielsen says.
