Sell Your Stuff

The Record Exchange buys and trades used CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs and vinyl in good condition Monday-Saturday until 9 p.m. and Sunday until 6 p.m.

Merchandise must have covers intact. We do not buy CDs in booklets without cases.

What we pay for used merchandise fluctuates, based on multiple factors, like supply, demand, and the condition of the media. And we always give more for in store trade.

Call for up to date price ranges.

(Photo ID is required to sell items for cash.)

We do not give price quotes or buy over the phone.

We can generally make you an offer the day you come in, but depending on our business volume, large collections make take longer.

Our used vinyl buying policies are a bit different. If our vinyl buyer is not in the store, you may leave your vinyl with us, get a receipt and our buyer will call you with an offer once the items have been assessed.

Items must be complete, in their original sleeves and in good condition.

Questions: Call 208.344.8010, Ext. 6 or email us with the subject “Used Buying and Trading” HERE for CDs and DVDs and HERE for vinyl.

Cafe & Gift Shop

Step into The Record Exchange gift shop and espresso bar and you’ll see that we’re much more than a music store. Known to longtime customers as The Edge, our coffee shop gave Downtown Boise its first espresso bar when it opened in the early 1980s. In addition to drip coffee, espresso drinks, sodas and teas, you’ll find burritos, sandwiches, bagels, muffins, pastries, cookies, chips and other snacks.

The gift shop features Boise/Idaho-themed tees and gifts, greeting cards, jewelry, books, incense, rock tees, toys, stickers and patches, baby gifts, apparel, kidrobot and other collectibles, homewares and personal care items, novelties, Treefort merch and much more. Come hang with us!

Below is the front door to our cafe & gift shop. Don’t worry, the line is usually only this long on Record Store Day.
