Spin Doctors

August 22 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

With a career spanning an impressive thirty years, the Spin Doctors are still making music like their lives depend on it, and have no current plans to slow down. Even now, plans are afoot for a seventh studio album and another swashbuckling world tour, adding to their tally of almost two thousand shows.

Like all the best rock ‘n’ roll mythology, the final page of the Spin Doctors’ biography remains forever unwritten. But if the band’s story is to begin anywhere, it should be at New York’s New School university in the fall of ’88, and the formation of the band Trucking Company. Featuring guitarist Eric Schenkman, harmonicist John Popper, and vocalist Chris Barron, the group played together until Popper’s departure. The band re-grouped, added drummer Aaron Comess and bass player Mark White, and rebranded themselves the Spin Doctors in 1989. The release of their debut studio alum Pocket Full of Kryptonite in August of 1991 exploded in popularity following an aggressive touring schedule. The album went Gold in September 1992 and then Triple Platinum in 1993, eventually reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

The Spin Doctors have gone on to release five more albums including Turn it Upside Down (1994), You’ve Got to Believe in Something (1996), Here Comes the Bride (1999), Nice Talking to Me (2005), and If the River Was Whiskey (2013).

The band celebrated the 20th anniversary of the album Pocket Full of Kryptonite in 2011 with a UK and US tour and are currently working on their seventh studio album.

Smash Mouth

August 22 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Like a fine Napa Valley wine, this internationally loved and wildly successful San Jose pop-rock outfit seems to only get better with time. Armed with a stock-load of always fresh and blazing ammo primed to fire you straight into rock ‘n roll Valhalla, Smash Mouth has infinitely proven themselves a 100% developed…yet always growing…rock and roll juggernaut for the ages.

A look back at Smash Mouth’s formative years shows a band determined to make an impact from day one. Formed in 1994, Smash Mouth almost immediately begins recording demos and showcasing in San Jose and Hollywood. In June of 1997, Smash Mouth is signed to Interscope Records when label brass catch wind of an unknown band being ADDED to monumentally influential L.A. radio station KROQ’s after only one spin of their song “Walking On The Sun”.

Smash Mouth’s major-label debut album “Fush Yu Mang” goes more than DOUBLE PLATINUM and sets the table for what most consider their masterpiece; “Astrolounge”. Boasting three TOP-TEN hits (All-Star…Then The Morning Comes…Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby), sales for “Astrolounge” almost double those for “Fush Yu Mang”. Approaching nearly QUADRUPLE PLATINUM status.

In 2023, Smash Mouth is broadening their horizons. In addition to releasing several new tracks penned by bassist and hit songwriter Paul DeLisle, the band is proud to announce their new ambassadorship with New Urtopia E-bikes, an exciting joint venture with our favorite honey purveyor Pacific Honeybee, and the creation of our new S.M.A.S.H. beer with Karl Strauss. You can also find us on the road driving in style thanks to our friends at the amazing Aston Martin dealership in San Diego. And if you’re out shopping, please pick up some new Smash Mouth merch this year at Hot Topic.

Smash Mouth 2023 boasts the continuing solidified lineup featuring Randy Cooke (drums, vocals), Paul DeLisle (bass, vocals), Zach Goode (lead vocals), Sean Hurwitz (guitar, vocals), and Michael “Hippy” Klooster (keyboards, vocals). All five of these seasoned veterans are widely regarded as world-class players and performers. They’re also super-handsome.

But no matter what they do…SM will always be universally acknowledged as “The Shrek Band”. Authenticating something else that makes Smash Mouth so valuable and timeless. Since every child ever born (till the end of time) will inevitably watch and love “Shrek”…Smash Mouth’s audience constantly reproduces itself. Generation to generation. And it will never stop. Because “Shrek” is this century’s “Wizard of Oz”.

Presently at the height of their towering collective power – and as they simultaneously watch several of their contemporaries either retire or fall by the wayside – Smash Mouth’s time is now.

Justin Moore

August 25 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Justin Moore’s never been one to follow the pack. A multi-platinum, chart-topping country star who left Nashville behind for the simple pleasures of small-town life, Moore’s built his remarkable career playing by his own rules, eschewing trends and spotlight-chasing in favor of an honest, old-school approach. It makes perfect sense, then, that he’d call his captivating new album Stray Dog. Mature and nuanced, the collection showcases Moore at his most self-assured, tapping into the raw energy of his live show as he delivers poignant stories of desire and commitment, heartbreak and regret, joy and celebration. Sure, there’s plenty of good time anthems here, but Stray Dog is ultimately a powerful work of reflection from an artist who’s grown to understand himself on a deeper level than ever before, one who’s willing to engage in the hard work that comes with building not just a career, but a life of meaning and purpose.

Born and raised in Poyen, AR, Moore landed his first country #1 with “Small Town USA,” the breakout single off his 2009 self-titled debut. The record went platinum, as did its 2011 follow-up, Outlaws Like Me, which yielded yet another #1 single. In the decade that followed, Moore would go on to establish himself as one of modern country music’s most reliable artists, landing nine more #1’s, taking home the New Artist of the Year trophy at the ACM Awards, racking up more than a billion streams, and performing everywhere from Jimmy Kimmel Live to The Today Show.

Bush

August 24 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

With a discography that includes such seminal rock albums as 1994’s 6x platinum-selling SIXTEEN STONE, ‘96’s triple-platinum-selling RAZORBLADE SUITCASE, and ‘99’s platinum-selling THE SCIENCE OF THINGS, BUSH has sold over 20 million records in the U.S. and Canada alone. They’ve also compiled an amazing string of 23 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts. Eleven of those hit the Top 5, six of which shot to No. 1: “Comedown,” “Glycerine,” “Machinehead,” “Swallowed,” “The Chemicals Between Us” and “The Sound of Winter.” The latter made rock radio history as the first self-released song ever to hit No. 1 on Alternative Radio, where it spent 6 weeks perched atop the chart’s top spot. The song appeared on 2011’s “comeback album,” THE SEA OF MEMORIES, which was BUSH’s first studio album in ten years. That year Billboard ran a story about the band under the headline, “Like They Never Left” – a fitting title as the multi-platinum quartet (vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz, and drummer Nik Hughes) promptly picked up where they left off. They’ve continued to dominate rock radio and play sold-out shows to audiences around the world ever since. Their latest album The Kingdom followed 2017’s Black And White Rainbows, which People magazine hailed as “a triumphant return.”
