Stretching is ancient, but StretchLab has redefined what it means to get a stretch.
Having someone with years of experience read your body, assess your needs and make sure that you have been thoroughly, expertly stretched is an experience like no other. To push you further than you can push yourself and open you up in ways that you just can’t do on your own. Stretching is really good for you. Being stretched is the key to a longer and healthier life.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
Tight shoulders, sore hamstrings, neck tension. No two bodies are the same and no two stretches at StretchLab are the same. One on one stretching is about identifying tightness and imbalances in your body and customizing a stretch routine that is just for you. Our clients may come in with pain, tightness or specific focus areas, but keep coming back and commit to their flexibility journey once they experience the freedom that comes with having a wider range of motion and flexibility. Reclaiming your freedom. The freedom to move as you want, to be active an engaged in the life you see yourself having.
Flexologist Training Program (FTP)
Our proprietary Flexologist Training Program is an intensive and thorough series that each of our Flexologists must complete prior to joining the StretchLab family. During their required 60-70+ hours of theory and hands-on training, our Flexologists learn the muscular system, a variety of assisted stretches and exactly how to work with a variety of clients from professional athletes, weekend warriors, those recovering from an injury and clients of all ages and body types.
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (whew!) is the method we use in our one on one stretches as well as certain stretches in our group stretches. Basically, your flexologist will put you in position and ask you to contract certain muscles and hold the contraction for a few moments. This advanced form of stretching is very beneficial in increasing range of motion and getting maximum benefits during your stretch session.
DYNAMIC & STATIC STRETCHING
Static stretching is holding a stretch for a set amount of time. Dynamic stretching includes some sort of movement associated with the stretch. We use a combination of these as well as stretching tools during every group stretch and one on one session.
Making a commitment to your flexibility goals is a perfect way to start improving your performance, mobility and decreasing stress and pain. StretchLab offers monthly memberships for our one on one stretches as well as our group stretches. An ongoing membership allows you to discuss your range of motion and flexibility goals with your Flexologist and tracking your progress. Remember, it doesn’t get easier – you get better!

WHAT TO EXPECT
If you haven’t had an assisted stretch before – prepare yourself for a great time ! Your Flexologist will greet you and discuss your current flexibility, any injuries that you may have and walk you through your session. Stretches are performed on one of our custom designed benches. Your stretch won’t be painful, but your Flexologist will communicate with you throughout your stretch to gauge your comfort level. It’s best to wear clothes you feel comfortable moving in. People wear workout clothes, gym shorts, yoga pants, T-shirts, etc. Jeans and slacks tend to restrict your mobility so we suggest not wearing those types of materials.
No matter which group stretch you choose – get ready to have some fun! Our group stretches have a maximum of 6 participants to allow for personal attention to each client. You will have your own bench and your Flexologist will guide the group through a series of static (holding), dynamic (stretch with motion) and PNF (push and release) stretches as well as utilizing stretching tools like yoga straps and foam rollers. Don’t worry about your level of flexibility- you don’t have to be able to do the splits to join! Each stretch can be customized to either increase to decrease the level of difficulty and we offer two levels of classes to make sure we have something for everyone!
