About Us
The mission of the Boise Soul Food Festival is to educate and grow the Boise African American culture for present and future generations.
The Soul Food Festival’s purpose is to celebrate and educate the greater Treasure Valley region about Black culture in order to enhance and nurture racial understanding and harmony within the community.
Our programs include an annual Soul Food Festival that showcases African-American inspired soul food, music, dancing, Black culture and businesses. The festival may include workshops or demonstrations to educate the public about African-American history, Black Culture, traditional dances and music, hair care, and/or current social justice issues.

Before you get ready to head out make sure you’re prepared to endure the crowds, and pack the essentials to stay comfortable.
Here’s a quick rundown of what to bring:
• Visit the information/welcome booth.
• Have a parking plan.
• Check the weather and be prepared.
• Bring a chair.
• Light weight clothing for the summer heat.
• Comfortable shoes for walking and standing.
• Sanitizing wipes.
• Phone (with a great camera).
• Portable phone charger.
• Waist pack or small purse.
• Sunscreen.
• Hat, head scarf/bandana, sunglasses & umbrella.
