About Us
Buy Idaho was founded to raise awareness about products and services right here in Idaho. We are a not-for-profit organization funded by membership dues and receive no governmental support. Our goal is to increase employment opportunities and generate additional revenues for state services without increasing state taxes. Buy Idaho assists members in networking with other Idaho businesses, educates the community about the importance of buying in-state, and how our purchases as Idahoans impact our local economy. Our membership includes hundreds of businesses, large and small, working together to achieve the common goal of creating more jobs, and contributing to the state economy. When we support Idaho businesses, we are making a statement with our dollars. We are choosing to keep our money in the state to support our own schools, economy, and communities.
For those who have called Idaho home for years – and for many of us, a lifetime – it is no wonder people from other parts of the country and the world are choosing the Gem State to live, invest, and do business. We are consistently rated one of the top states for job growth, tax-friendliness, and livability.
We welcome the rankings and accolades, but it is our culture above any statistic that makes us proud to call Idaho home. Our communities share in the excitement of an entrepreneur starting a business. We root for innovation and investment in our existing businesses, large and small.

More than a Mantra
“Buy Idaho” is more than a mantra. We are a state-wide community benefit organization working together to ensure that Idaho remains a place to celebrate. We are farmers, artisans, bakers, coffee roasters, service and health providers, governmental agencies, and academic institutions. We are your friends and your neighbors.
When you purchase from an Idaho business, you are investing in your local economy. Your investment is imperative to create jobs, support schools, maintain roads, improve our healthcare, and encourage growth and variety in our marketplace.
At Buy Idaho, we celebrate large and small businesses and the diversity that they bring to our state. We work to promote Idaho businesses and encourage Idahoans to “Buy Idaho” products whenever they can. “Buying Local” isn’t just a trend; choose to shop where you live, support your community, and invest in the Idaho you want to see. As of 2016, there are 1.6 million people living in the state of Idaho. If every one of us spent just $100 with Idaho Businesses, we would generate over $9 million in tax revenue to help improve our state.
