Our team believes that having a pet simply makes your life better! We owe it to our pets to not only shower them with our love but to also give them a healthy active life! We know it can be difficult to provide as much TLC and exercise for our furry family members as we often like so that’s where Zen Pet Care Services comes in! When you are not there; we bring the love and care.
Christopher Fouser is a life-long dog and cat owner. He also is a athlete. His Passion – animals and exercise – and formed Zen Pet Care Services. The concept for Zen Pet Care Services developed after He saw statistics indicating that “53% of adult dogs and 55% of cats in the U.S. are overweight causing arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease, certain cancers and heart and respiratory disease.” This sparked His interest in helping get our furry family members back into shape.
CHRIS FOUSER
Chris Fouser is a life-long dog and cat owner. With an athletic background, Chris took his two passions – animals and exercise – and formed Zen Pet Care Services. The concept for Zen Pet Care Services developed after Chris saw statistics indicating that “53% of adult dogs and 55% of cats in the U.S. are overweight, causing arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease, certain cancers and heart, and respiratory disease.”
This sparked Chris’ interest in creating a company that focuses on pet care and exercise. Exercising keeps your dog healthy and limber while reducing behavioral problems such as excessive licking, barking, chewing, digging, and other anxiety-related behaviors. It also helps your dog build trust and confidence in their handler and environment.

Every dog is different. That is why our team develops personalized exercise and activity-building programs. We research the breed, conduct a FREE initial consultation to assess the shape they are in and then come up with an exercise game plan for your furry family member. A program might consist of running and hiking or it might consist of walking and then running or it might start with playing in the yard or park. The fitness program will be designed for your dog.
We can mix and match services to fit your dog’s exercise needs. For example, if you want your pet worked with 3 times a week, one session might be playing in the park, the next session running and the last session hiking or brisk walking.
When your dog starts our fitness program we slowly build up his or her endurance because our goal is to improve your dog’s fitness and good health, not just log miles.
We monitor progress with a GPS tracker, and modify the program when necessary. It is our mission to ensure that each dog gets the right type and amount of physical activity – whether it’s playing tug-of-war in the backyard or running in the Boise Foothills.
After each run, hike or walk you will receive a GPS created graphic of the route, distance and time spent on the adventure.

OUR SERVICES
Hiking
Our hiking sessions begin with a short warm up walk and end with a cool down on the way back home. The safety of the dogs is our top priority! Our team is trained to carefully to watch for discomfort including: dehydration, overheating, and fatigue. If we see any signs of struggling or tiring, we will adjust the workout.
Overnight Pet Sitting
Our overnight pet sitting service includes 12 hours (8:00pm – 8:00am) of pet care through the night at client’s house. We have 3 current packages that are most popular by demand.
Trail Running
Our trail running sessions begin with a short warm up walk and end with a cool down on the way back home. The safety of the dogs is our top priority! Running
Our running sessions begin with a short warm up walk and end with a cool down on the way back home. The safety of the dogs is our top priority! Our team is trained to carefully to watch for discomfort including: dehydration, overheating, and fatigue. If we see any signs of struggling or tiring, we will adjust the workout.
Walking
We also offer fast-paced walks for our dog clients. This is ideal for puppies and older dogs that may not be up for running or hiking or just haven’t run in a while. Pack walks are always welcome to join with well behaved and socialized dogs.
In-Home Activity for both Dogs and Cats & Park Time
We realize that not all of our furry friends can go running and hiking or maybe even out walking, which is why we offer a customized in-home exercise program. We are loving pet care companions so this service is perfect for a pet with separation anxiety or a love bug that can’t get enough cuddle and play time. This is also the service we provide for our cat owners!
