The Georgia-bred rockers are on the cusp of celebrating their 25th anniversary, and are currently working on their new album for a Spring release!
From the elegiac verve of the career-defining “Shine” to the heartfelt universality of “The World I Know” and the earnest offering of “AYTA” (a.k.a. “Are You the Answer”), Collective Soul is clearly firing on all cylinders.
“When you see us this summer, you’ll get the vibe of how much we enjoy what we do. You’ll see how much we enjoy each other, and how much we enjoy making music together,” confirms Collective Soul’s visionary frontman and chief songwriter, vocalist/guitarist Ed Roland. “You’ll get all the hits, but we’re also going to throw in some new stuff too. One thing about having nine studio recordings is that it’s hard to fit everything into the set right now. It’s a good problem to have — to be around that long and have so many songs people really want to hear. But once we find the right live groove, we also know what works in this kind of set.”
Approaching their 25th anniversary in 2019, it’s evident the legacy of Collective Soul is as strong as ever.
Collective Soul continues to rock quite simply for the love of music. The band that helped sonically define alternative rock is more focused and energized than ever. And as Ed Roland puts it, fans can continue to expect “lots of guitars and a fun attitude from the southern gentlemen of rock and roll.”
Tracy Byrd became a household name on the Country Music Scene in 1993 when his third single, called “Holdin’ Heaven“, off of his MCA Records, self-titled debut album, hit #1 on the Billboard Country Charts. The Album also included the remake hit of Johnny Paycheck’s “Someone to Give My Love To” cementing Byrd as a Traditional Country Troubadour! The Debut Album went on to be certified Gold, a reward signifying sales in excess of 500,000 copies.
Byrd’s second project, “No Ordinary Man“, kept building on the momentum the first album created, the first radio single from it called “Lifestyle’s of the Not so Rich and Famous” reached #4, followed by another top five hit, “The First Step“, then with the release of the smash, chart topping hit “Watermelon Crawl” the second album crossed the half million sales mark and certified Gold. The release of the 4th and last single on this project moved Byrd to the top of both the Billboard Album and Singles charts. The song was called “The Keeper of the Star’s” and it shot to #1 on the singles charts and pushed the album to Double Platinum Status.
Byrd has charted more than thirty hit singles in his career, including eleven additional Top Ten hits. He has also released ten studio albums and two greatest-hits albums, with four Gold certifications. Byrd has released countless hits, including “Don’t Take Her She’s All I’ve Got“, “I’m From the Country“, “I Wanna Feel That Way Again“, “The Drinkin’ Bone“, “The Truth About Men“, and the all-time party song “10 Rounds with Jose Cuervo” which shot to the top of the Billboard Charts to notch Byrd’s third #1 single.
Through all of these years Byrd became a promoter favorite on the road, performing over 4000 exciting shows across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia from 1992 until 2009! He then say’s he needed a break to take care of himself and his most precious thing, his family. He did not perform from 2010-2013, but in 2014 he got back to the music. Since then, he started work on his first project in 10 years. Recorded completely in Tyler, Texas at Rosewood Studios, that album is appropriately titled, All American Texan, which is exactly what he is and has always been.
With an inimitable voice the New York Times describes as “wholly different, thicker and more throbbing, a caldron bubbling over,” Randy Houser racked up three consecutive No. 1 hits and more than four million in singles sales to date with his Stoney Creek Records album, How Country Feels. He topped the charts with the title track, “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” and “Goodnight Kiss” (also his first No. 1 as a songwriter) and earned critical acclaim for his powerful delivery of the
Top 5 smash and CMA Song of the Year-nominated “Like A Cowboy.” Houser added a fourth No. 1 to his catalogue with “We Went” from his 2016 album, Fired Up. Randy Houser’s fifth studio album, Magnolia, will be his third album with current label home, Stoney Creek Records and marks a new era for Houser.
Listeners got their first taste of Houser’s rootsy new sound with the 2018 summer release of “What Whiskey Does,” which debuted at Country radio as the number one most added song and Rolling Stone immediately dubbed it “a classic tears-and-twang drinking song.”
Along with the launch of his new full-length album, Magnolia, Houser released a film of the same name which embodies the sentiment of the album’s lyrics. The album released in January, draws its name from the “Magnolia State” which inspired the homegrown, organic sound Randy has spent the last two years cultivating.
